meet the new addition to our family!

yes we got two.
i'm just as surprised as you are. and now of course we are re-thinking names to include literary pairings. so far luthien and beren is my favorite choice, but it is undecided.
what happened is this.
we got there and this little boy (in front) jumped in the cat carrier.
he hung out for a while...jumped out and came over to hang out in my lap purring his face off. and i looked at ross and asked him if he was having second thoughts about which one we got because this boy was so friendly...and he said, "wanna get both of them?" i couldn't believe it. apparently a dream predisposed him to getting two of them....
i am so in love with this guys already.
i spent the night in the guest room with them so that they would not be alone and they spent most of the night on the bed with me. they are very warm.

madeliene on the other hand, is less than thrilled.

the champion!

the challengers

footsie under the door

brueder and schwester are "brother and sister" in german. i personally love the way german sounds and think it's fun to say, ha. there is a european fairy tale about Little Brother and Little Sister that often gets confused with Hansel and Gretel but it's a different story.

thursday and joffey are brother and sister in (one of) my favorite series by Jasper Fforde (which is where our Jasper got his name). Thursday is a brash and courageous woman in her 30s who has all sorts of adventures... in the first book she discovers she can transport herself into the Book World, that is, the world inside of books... "The Eyre Affair" is the first book and I highly recommend it!! Joffey is her brother and is a priest in the Global Standard Diety church (lol) he isn't a main character but he does make several amusing appearances.

Francis and Claire I got from St. Francis and The Poor Claires (or I guess it's Clares?)... the poor clares are the nun version of franciscans. That's probably not the greatest way to put it but it's early here LOL.
