first the knitting




not sure what to say about these other than that the pictures don't even come close to doing them justice. these are brenda dayne's hellfire lace brother amos socks. they are possibly the most beautiful (and easily the most difficult) socks i've ever knit. knit in fleece artist merino 2/6.

then the soap.



the batch here includes:top lft - lavender, top middle - almond, milk and honey, bottom - patchouli, right side - oatmeal apricot freesia
i am extra pleased with the lavender because it is the first time i've managed to get the lavender buds in without them searing to green in the heat of the soap.
the patchouli may be a bit weak on scent but the others are incredible (and frankly strong patchouli is a big turn-off to me anyway, but i have no idea what detta wants.
i am hoping to horse-trade some of this tomorrow for spinning fiber when i go to order my new spinning wheel!

nifty. :) i should dig up my supplies and give it another shot. i think i just used too much lye the last time.

have you ever used a lye calculator? there are several free on the net.

i did, it still came out lye-y. lovely soap for bad clothing stains though. :)
