before i went to virginia i had to stop exercising. i had been doing sit-ups and push-ups in the morning before work and i started feeling this stabbing pain in my lower right abdomen when i did them. my fear? what if i have a hernia?
well, i got all my excercise walking for about two weeks, and this week i started with the sit-ups again - NO PAIN. that's pretty awesome. i really didn't want to have to deal with that.
things to be grateful for? not having a hernia.

Sit-ups without pain. Good thing. Wish I was motivated enough to exercise.

Maybe it was a cyst on your ovary? They're really quite normal and I have them from time to time - but they can hurt!

Glad to know it went away on its own :)

ack! what a horrible idea!!! i really hope that wasn't it.
but i would also be surprised since the only time it hurt was when i did sit ups or push ups.

Eep - didn't mean to freak you out! They occur when your ovary releases an egg and the void left fills with fluid. They generally resolve on their own.

always good to be grateful for all the problems that life does *not* throw in your way

Not that there's anything wrong with run-of-the-mill crunches, but if you do them while balanced on a balance ball, it'll help your back AND strengthen your core muscles (since you'll be balancing a bit).
