well, you and chris really have the coziest house ever. i think i would feel better about winter if ross and i had access to our WHOLE house and not just the first floor and our bedroom. it gets to feeling kinda cramped when you can't go outside. also we have no fireplace and that is LAME with a capital lah.
If you can handle the drive to the boonies, you should come up and visit us sometime this winter! We'd love to share our fire! And Lord knows we'll eventually be craving adult interaction :)

Our kitchen, on the other hand, is more or less an icebox all winter because of the crappy insulation in the ceiling and floor. We keep the thermostat at 50' just so we don't waste gas. When we do stoke up the stove in that part of the house, we can keep it at a good 70', but otherwise it's really no fun to be in there! Our food gets cold fast, too :P
