i am SO sleepy this morning.
it has rained all weekend and is supposed to keep raining through tomorrow night. i just want to curl up with a fireplace and tea and a book.
but we have really needed this rain. we were in drought status and now we are an inch above where we should be for the summer - 4 inches above where we normally are for august.
i am ready for fall.
i was super-productive this weekend. i got almost everything done that i set out to do and got done a few things i hadn't set out to do. the house is clean and smells good. i went to a party saturday evening with corrin and had rachel and jared over for dinner and a walk yesterday. i had dinner all prepped and ready to go before they got to our place and it turned out very well...actually i'm thinking it is a recipe that would work out very well in a crockpot....maybe with some rice added. if i make it that way i will post the recipe on [livejournal.com profile] geekcooks
i also took some books over to sell at the used book store and got a copy of the joy of cooking for $12 ! i had been putting it off because that book is so expensive! also got a crockpot book with a recipe for beer cheese soup. that will make ross happy.

but one of the consesquences of working so hard all weekend is that i am exhausted today. i want a nap.

Used bookstores are all kinds of fantstic. I wish we had one down at VT, because I'm fairly dependant on the one in NVA near my house.
As for tea, I tried a very sweet black tea over the summer which I highly recommend-- Lychee Concubine Tea (so-called because it's supposed to get rid of wrinkles, lol). I don't know how easy it is to find outside of Xi'an, but it's delicious.

we have MANY used bookstores around here, and one that is maybe a mile from our house. half price books lives up to its name. i'm a big fan.

the tea sounds great! i drink earl grey, darjeeling and mint tea most commonly, but i like jasmine and roibos and some of the other stuff too.
