weekend plans

2eclipsebusy busy busy.
this week i have been clearing out the basement to make room for the drywall. we are finally beginning the process of finishing our basement. we have gift certs. to home depot and ross figures we might get 50 sheets for them.
it started because we were trying to put woodwork around the windows in the kitchen and ross broke the wall by accident.
it always amuses me when people break walls unintentionally. am i the only one who finds this inherently funny?
we need a SMALL piece of drywall to fit into the ledge under the window so that we can repair things. but it is silly to buy a big piece of drywall just for the small piece to fix the window, so we are going to tear out the wall inside our side entryway, spray some insulation in (it is the one place in the house that never got insulated when ross did the rest of the house) and re-do the walls in that area. while we are at it, we will hang drywall in the hallway to the garage (which has open insulation and is not up to code), and take care of the electric and the drywall in the rest of the basement.
we are waiting to decide about the mudding process because my folks are coming up for easter and we don't want to have drywall dust all over the house for that.
so that will all get taken care of on sunday. saturday evening is dawn's housewarming party (need to get the bread and salt)
and we may also be getting together with an out-of-town friend of ross's who i have never met. should be fun.
