please fix your grammar.
orientated is not a word(unless you are british). learn the word oriented.
variated is not a word. the past tense for vary is varied.
commentated applies to commentators, not commentors. someone who has made a statement has COMMENTED, not commentated.
anymore is not a substitute for the word yet or still. something can still happen, or continue to happen, but "that happens anymore" makes no sense. anymore is only used that way in the negative, as in, "that doesn't happen anymore."
it is impossible to borrow something TO someone else. USE and LOVE the word LEND.

please.
you people make me want to scream and tear my hair out. you perpetuate incorrect usage of language and words until half the people don't know it's wrong anymore(and the other half want to murder you slowly and painfully)!

sincerely,

me

There is a guy who works here who constantly begins a sentence with "Also too." It drives me nuts.

Another I hate is a written habit people seem to have acquired lately of writing out "would've" as "would of". This hurts my brain.

Sigh.

My people aren't native to this state, so I - fortunately - was raised to learn proper grammar. I hate, hate, HATE the "borrow me" phrase. HATE it.

maybe this is the secret reason minnesotans keep importing people from other states. they secretly long for correct english instructors!....i can dream.

Can we also talk about the correct use of your and you're?

I can deal with the occasional misspelling of "your" to "you" as in: "zOMG a cop just ticketed you car!" because I am willing to believe that that is a simple mistake (and it's one I make all the time then hate myself for).

However, the use of "your" as in: "Do you have any idea how angry your making me right now?!" seems to be becoming so common that I fear it might slip into the vernacular and actually sponsored by dictionaries and such WE MUST PREVENT THIS ATROCITY AT ALL COSTS.

And it's/its. And "definately".

I agree with all of these examples, but now I need to go read something else until I stop twitching.

agreed this is pretty bad. so far [livejournal.com profile] sooper's example of you've and would've being written as "you of" and "would of" make me cringe the most though.

i would like to explain to the press in general (at least in the UK) that you can't (or at least shouldn't) pressurize people. people can be pressured. if you pressurize them you end up with a bloody mess.

but terrifyingly common. i read about people being pressurized (or pressurised, over here) far more often than pressured. it hurts my head.

it is frustrating/infuriating/depressing how many people don't care if they use the language correctly or not. especially people in public view.

language

I definitely claim you as "daughter".
With regard to one of the comments..."Would of" is actually a bastardation of "Would have" I believe. :)

that's pretty much why it makes me want to pee on anyone who gets it wrong.
bastardizations are actually "somewhat" acceptable.
this is just in the toilet.
