hmm I haven't read these books, but it appears from plot summaries I would probably really, really enjoy them. I'll have to give them a look-see!! :D

they aren't finished yet. that's the kicker.
but martin used to be a historian, so his worlds are very complete.
his politics are brilliant.
his women are as well-written as his men.
his characters are modern. they swear.
he's not afraid to kill of his main characters
he likes to cut off people's noses.

all in all, one of my favorite modern writers. he just needs to get the damn books done.

I'm always looking for good authors, especially if they have serial books... it's disappointing sometimes to be reading a really great book and come to the end wishing for more.
