Sep. 8th, 2008 11:16 amross's ex-girlfriend, christa came over for dinner friday. it was my first time meeting her, but we had a really nice time. drank too much wine, talked about gaming, went in the hot tub. it was a nice night. i guess i should expect that. so far, i get along with most of ross's exes....at least the ones he still gets along with. :)
then saturday was a trip to the renn fair with corrin and melissa.
which would have been nothing but awesome except that my cramps decided to crash the party. very rude of them.
still, we got to see the fandazi fire show (
eltanin has become truly awesome with her fire poi, and there was a neat new act with a hula-hoop. it's too bad the fire kept going out because i think the end would have been really impressive with lit flames.
i wasn't too impressed with vegetable justice...partly because it seems like a let-down after seeing villification tennis, but partly because i'm more interested in things that are funny than things that are merely insulting or dirty. i got ross some shirts and some xmas gifts. it was a good time, even though we got rained out at the end.
the craziness part of the weekend came from the fact that my car desperately needs new breaks. ross has promised to replace them...for about 2 months now. but he was actually going to do it this weekend and we switched cars for the purpose. a lot. turns out he needed parts he doesn't have.
decision making is difficult, because i'm not sure when i'm going to have my car vs. when he's going to need it at home.
yesterday was an attempt to get the parts he needed, church, spinning/knitting, and susan over for beer cheese soup. it was a chillier weekend than we've had yet, and it is beginning to feel like fall. i have mixed feelings about fall being here already, but it is my favorite season. a good weekend overall.

Date: 2008-09-08 07:42 pm (UTC)I didn't actually get to go to one until college, because the biggest/best one is in Franklin, TN (middle tennessee) and I lived in Chattanooga (east tennessee on the border to georgia). I love them though--lots of fun and the people-watching is great. This year a wandering minstrel made up a song about me and my niece hehe
down in chattanooga the fall colors are spectacular. they are nice here too but lately haven't seemed to last very long. which is sad... I love fall too (mostly because it usually means school is starting and i love school and buying school supplies and everything related to school) but the smells (something about decomposing leaves just smells wonderful) and food/flavor associations are nice too.
those cookies sound delightful!!
