"When you visualized a man or woman carefully," he observes, "you could always begin to feel pity -- that was a quality God's image carried with it. When you saw the lines at the corners of the eyes, the shape of the mouth, how the hair grew, it was impossible to hate. Hate was just a failure of imagination." - unnamed whiskey priest from washington post article sent to me by

the idea of a whiskey priest is just awesome. i want to be one when i grow up....okay, maybe not a REAL whiskey priest...but MY idea of what a whiskey priest should be. :)

in other news, i hung out with corrin last night. first time in ages. she bought me dinner and took a much needed trip to vicki's secret and i got an awesome knitting book. we hung out at her place...it was very nice, if somewhat girly. she painted my toenails for me, which i am completely incapable of doing nicely myself. i will pay for this leisure today with more canning and vacuuming.

Date: 2008-08-06 03:06 pm (UTC)i can paint toenails but not my fingernails... for some reason fingernail polish does not stay on my hands for more then 1.5 hours. then it starts chipping and looking ratty. so i just use those buffing block things you can get at the supermarket... they are pretty cool and your nails are all smooth and shiny!
