the stuff going on for "security" purposes in airports really fries me off. i really don't believe we are preventing terrorism. i believe we are making flying worse than it already is. and now they want to look at our naughty bits. i'll take the pat-down, thanks.

it astounds me how idiotic people in charge can be. "oh, no, people won't mind us looking thru their clothes... it's for national security afterall".
all they are accomplishing is destroying their own future business. people will put up with this crap for only so long. the stupid rules, the gas prices, etc... eventually, all rational people will simply walk away, stop using the product or service, and then the providers of that product or service will simply shrivel and die. if they "change their ways" after pushing people too far, they might gain some new business back, but resourceful people will have found another way to fill the need.
i'd really love to have heard that sophomoric board meeting where they decided it was necessary to view their passengers naked. *shakes head*.. now -that- would make for interesting reality tv.
quite a while ago i'd decided i never wanted to travel by air again.. when the security had only started to get ridiculous... after hearing this, it only solidifies that decision.

Date: 2008-06-14 06:40 pm (UTC)this is a question i believe is worth asking... i wonder what their reaction would be to 100 naked people trying to get thru security. seriously, you're not trying to hide anything, you'd be -really- easy to identify... d'you think they'd just let you bypass security so long as you didn't have carry-on?
actually, scratch that. they've gotta invade your privacy somehow, otherwise they'd feel cheated. i'm sure that they'd feel obligated to find -something- to search... and since you've got no clothes to go thru, it's the rubber glove special. *snap*
