so i went to borealis yarn store for the first time today.
and they had SUCH wonderful sock yarn...although they also had an awful lot of plymouth yarn, which does 100% keystone pricing, so i can't buy from them (votin' with my dollars!). still it was lovely. and i had coffee with a nice lady from ravelry who lives near me. and i got 2 skeins of yarn.

this loveliness is queensland collection kathmandu. it is super smooshy. and will be a small cthulhu.

and this...well. it speaks for itself.

this is cat's pajamas in honeypot. it involves cashmere. it is LOVE

the crummy thing is that the only reason it's legal is because it is the factory company deciding what prices their distributors can use - instead of selling the product that way directly. so the yarn stores are the ones that get the extra profit, not them...but it still over-inflates the prices of luxury yarns for consumers. i try to buy from known "friendly" companies or from indy dyers online. i will buy from companies if i don't know their policies..but if i know they are keystone they won't get any of my business.
