Apr. 4th, 2008 12:37 pm2eclipse1. My username: 2eclipse. i like the pun the number adds, but mainly the 2 is there because it is my favorite number and because eclipse was already taken. eclipses are special to me. they are an image of light refusing to be stamped out by darkness
2. My name: heather jane hall anderson. i have a love/hate relationship with my name. for myself i like it. i like being named after a flower that refuses to die in harsh conditions and makes the heath more beautiful. i like having a name associated with scotland.
i hate most other heathers. now, i should be clear. i DO have friends named heather. but they are exceptions. mostly i find other heathers to be catty, entitled, precious women. i can't STAND it. give me an earthy heather any time.
i also just wish it were a less common name. i hate hearing my name, turning and finding that it is not me who is wanted.
3. My journal is titled: the darkness has not overcome it. this is a reference to john 1:5, a bible passage that has been an inspiration in my life since before i admitted to myself that i was christian. but i don't think you have to be christian to buy into it. there is darkness in this world, and hate, and treachery, and weakness. i want my life to shine like light against that darkness. i use that title, and the image of the eclipse, to remind myself to work at it.
4. My friends page: doesn't have a name. i don't see a need for it. my friends are my friends.
5. My default userpic is: an eclipse. for all the reasons previously noted.

Date: 2008-07-14 04:46 pm (UTC)2 FEELS to me (in my head like synthentheasia*sp?*)like it has the roundness and symmetry that 0 should have - but 0 has emptiness instead. 2 is balanced.
2 is the number of relationship - the most important thing in the world to me, around which i build my life. not A relationship, mind you, but all relationship. tension; relationship is what makes life interesting to me.
2 is the lowest number required for change in math. you can add one to the other, or you can subtract one from the other.
thanks about the name thing.i love the flower too. i have met a couple other heathers since i moved here that have redeemed the name for _me_! if you ever come up here i will introduce you to 2 of them. heather kieweg, who grew up in upstate new york tapping maple trees to make her own maple syrup and who is a new mother and a landscape architect, and heather...you know i don't know her last name. she is bubbo on ravelry and she's a hoot. she sings songs about chicken buts while she gives you directions to her house.
being a xian vs. not being a xian but living by the same law is a mystery i have struggled with since i was in high school (and did not consider myself a xian). it's rough....because in my heart i didn't reject christ as _i_ understood him. i rejected christ as he was foisted upon me. i rejected his divinity. and i rejected the rosy, goody-two-shoes feel that the adults in the church seemed to cast on him....which frankly was never something he embraced in the first place. i guess i didn't have faith which saves - which made me not a christian...but saving is for God to judge, not humans....which always leaves me wondering.
2 is the only even prime number.
