*collapses*

hebrew is still kicking my ass. yesterday my teacher advised the men in the class never to watch a circumcision because "it's not a good thing to see." but i got a 98 on my test.
then i came home and dug holes in the ground because today we poured a new sidewalk and concrete patio.
the hot tub arrives monday.
man are we going to need it.
the living room is still in boxes but that should get taken care of this weekend.
then i have a test monday, a quiz tues. and we are seeding the lawn so that all our dirt doesn't get washed away. things are SO HECTIC. but it will look nice when it is done and i am learning a lot about how to do things.
jory's fiance, simona got here this week from romania. i wasn't sure if i would like her or not, but i think i do. she is helpful, but i think she is a little intimidated by how fast we speak.

blast!

now i have to go look up what that means. so far i only really know 2 adjectives. tov and g'dol. go figure. i know lots more verbs. we are working on the cohortive (my personal favorite just b'cuz of the name), the imperative and the jussive.

Well, you've probably looked it up by now, due to the lameness of my lag time on replies, but you should have gotten half of it without help.

Seder -order
And Ha'kol means "all"

All is in Order. Or more coloquially, "everything is good" or "its all ok"

Yeah, I know you're learning bibilcal hebrew for reading primary sources, but I'm still gonna throw occasional modern hebrew into the mix...

actually i hadn't yet. too busy learning that "mut" means - he died for my vocabulary test and crap yesterday. the idea of modern hebrew intrigues me. i am not learning hebrew as a hebrew speaker would (that would make too much sense, now, wouldn't it?). instead i am learning completely obnoxious bullshit to spew about hebrew like "ante-pre-tonic syllables volitalize". every once in a while my teacher will come across something that doesn't make sense. like how the ending comets-hey is used for 4 different purposes instead of being sensibly used for only one so we can tell them apart. then my prof will say something like "if you look closely at this you will see why this language died. when i rewrite the hebrew language so that it makes sense i will change this, but not until the end of my life because doing this (teaching hebrew) makes me feel useful and guarantees me a paycheck."
a very amusing man.
