that's really why i plan on getting out of my paid membership and transferring over to blogger or something like that. i am currently researching alternatives.
InsaneJournal!!! From what I've seen it's the best of the LJ clones (with the possible exception of Scribblit, which will be mainly for fandom anyway). Though to be fair, the "what I've seen" is discussion on IJ itself.
i took a look at it and frankly, i was disappointed with their terms of agreement...that they can at will, delete anything they want from your journal and not be liable for it...that's a problem for me. so far i like blogger's terms better even if they dont' seem to have a lot of the nifty tricks lj has.
Squeaky's a really cool guy, though, so I really doubt that would come into play... But blogs are a different story. They don't appeal to me if you can't do friends-only stuff and communities.
Lovely. Let me know where you end up, if you jet - I mostly use LJ to keep track of people I find interesting, and would hate to lose said interesting people.
i will. right now i am weighing the pros and cons of insane journal and blogger, both of which have more acceptable politics, but have very different options.
