If nobody adopts the poor Latvians within seven days, they are killed and cremated.

My cynicism tells me that you never want to give these people a social security number.

Perhaps he has a cousin who is the Director Minister of the Nigerian Oil Bank of Nigeria. I hear that guy has millions in an account for me if I can send him a few hundred bucks and an account number to cover the transfer costs.

Of course, it might not be an identity theft scam. It could be a perfectly legitimate job processing "charity" checks and transferring the money between banks. I guess laundering money for the mob/terrorists/drug lords pays pretty well if you can keep your head down.

When I googled it (the whole title in quotes), I came up with one entry, "Green World
American Latvian Humane Society Green World is a non-profit charitable organization that rescues and rehabilitates wild animals in the US , Latvia and ...
www.alhsgw.com/ - 4k - Cached - Similar pages"

But nothing's there when you click on the link.

I'd definitely be suspicious.

wow. you found more than i did.

i hate how this scam (i'm assuming it's a scam) attempts to play upon good honest concerns for the environment and animal welfare.

I'm glad they mentioned that they were the *Latvian* annimal society. Would not want to confuse that with the *Estonian* or *Bellarus* animal societies.

And what the hell is "public welfare?" Sounds like someone outside the US who does not know our HR system wrote this.
