so luther's red blood count is back up to 26 from 21. that is very good.
BUT i spent all evening last night at the vet and got NO xmas shopping done.
and he is back in this morning because they lost his paperwork and didn't know what tests to run (besides what i could tell them).
and they charged a lot for the emergency visit.
and apparantly bringing him in BY 7 also entails waiting around for 45 minutes while they look for his paperwork from last night.
grrr.
i hate being late to work.
even if it is my last day.

the people at my work are amazingly nice. i came in to work this am and there were two cards signed by everyone and a big box of six different kinds of teasophy teas from india and sri lanka. some of them i've never heard of before (although i'm already a big fan of darjeeling - celestial seasonings organic mango darjeeling is a current favorite). SO cool. they act like they're actually going to miss me. :)
it's so nice to feel cared for.

i'm sorry things are sucky with your kitty, sugar. the nice thing about not knowing is that you don't know for sure that it's terrible yet, & it might turn out okay after all. nobody's still got a clue what's actually wrong with my little nugget, but now that she's on steroids, she's much happier about it, whatever "it" is, so we'll find out more from the vet when i get back to new york, but at least i have a kitty for christmas. snuggle your baby for me--it's so sad when the wee ones are sickly!! :(

My dog Lady Godiva, a chocolate lab, passed away last july 4th. she was 14. She was in alot of pain, on pain killers and she just wasted away to nothingness.
She waited until i visited, i could tell it was the last time i'd see her. i whispered in her ear and told her to go in the way she wanted to go, not the way we did. She went outside, and found some brambley bushes, layed down and passed on.

Our other dog has nose cancer and before she was put to sleep she got all this chocolate.
Don't let anyone take luther away early, let him enjoy his time with you.

I am so sorry Luther is such a sick kitty. It seems a case of "brace yourself for possible bad news" and pray for good news. warm hugs and purrs to you and Luther.
