I actually have some movie-watching-involved goals for myself. i got sick of being ivideate in high school/college. i am PROUD of these efforts. besides, some cinema is literature and some of it is about knowing enough pop-culture to converse with others....if you REALLy want to tell me i have no life, take a look at all of the crap books i've read.

LJ Interests meme results

1. beer:
   i am a beer snob. i didn't like beer at all until i moved to pa, really (location of more microbreweries than any other state in the union). i go to beer tastings. yes, really. pretty much if it isn't corona and is a commercially advertized beer...i don't like it. not universally, but is generally true.
2. camping:
   all my life. i like sleeping close to the dirt w/ no concrete in between and you can feel the pull of the earth's magnetism. i always sleep better on boats and camping than anywhere else. also i like hard beds, but camping is better. the food tastes better too. and having some quiet time and seeing nature all around you...i do NOT LIKE crowded campsites. i like backpacking.
3. contact juggling:
   amazing looking...and i have some hopes that it will change me from being a real clutz to having some grace and control in my motions.
4. frank herbert:
   he is a master. one of the 2 authors ever i would say is as good as tolkein. his politics are brilliant, his world complete and his stories resonant and compelling.
5. invader zim:
   a short, meglomaniacle alien plotting to overthrow the world and posing as a third grader along with his mentally deranged robot/dog. it's gross, it's wrong, it's funny and it came up with head pigeons. what's not to love?
6. mammals:
   i like soft warm things. like you and me and my cats, and the big wild mammals.
   their names are called...they raise a paw....
7. music:
   eclectic taste orignally. even more so since i met ross.
8. piping:
   it's a beatiful thing to play an instrument designed to scare your enemies. there is lovely tradition behind it and it provides a great excuse to avoid underwear.
9. reading:
   all the time.
   i will read the back of pill bottles if there isn't anything else.
10. salty-crunchy food:
    mmmmmm.....yummmm....does this really need an explaination? i am not a "sweets" person.

would you believe it...I came out nearly the same as you on that politics survey. I am just a little less socialist than you...socialist but a little more toward the democrat line.
