it was so good to see everyone. thank you so much for making my trip home so wonderful. i hope to catch everyone i missed next time. the rumor is that we are coming to nonclave. which effectively means i need to bite the bullet and start playing up here. i have mixed feelings about this. in order to have a good time with sarnait i have to put a good deal of work into game. i have no natural talent at plotting and feel guilty for stealing ideas(with or without the inventor's blessing). it is very difficult for me to be as cruel as sarnait would. getting back into game means i need to start doing that kind of work again. on the other hand, i am looking forward to the possibility of meeting new friends. also when i have been there long enough i will have an excuse to go bug [livejournal.com profile] xerotic in chicago.

becca and michelle stayed with us monday night. it was lovely to have them. they got to their book-signing early enough to be done fairly quickly and get a tour of the new guthrie and lunch with us before they had to drive back to chicago. then susan and her man were over for dinner last night and i'm afraid [livejournal.com profile] lonewolfnight and i were at the end of our social tether. neither one of us was a very good host. simply too exhausted.

CHORES:
i MUST do laundry today. i have no clothes to wear...at least nothing comfortable that i would be willing to wear in public.
pick up dry-cleaning
clean bedroom (this has not been done in months)
bring in the trash can
take the recycling out
buy black jeans for ross
finish the hat i've been knitting

Is there any reason you couldn't start a different character who you don't have to be as involved in and isn't as taxing?

I would have to concur with Sooper on this one.

Play a Giovanni, if you want. You can stay out of plenty, to the point where you'd actually have people coming to YOU.

But hey, that's my opinion. You could also play someone who just wasn't generally interested in anything, someone who's in their ennui phase of unlife.

teehee. it isn't bad advice, but honestly i think any character i found truly enjoyable would challenge me.
i also have to admit to a certain amount of pride.
i am going into a game with entirely new people. my current character is useful and there are a scarcity of ventrue in the game. there is a piece of me that wants to make an impression. of course, if the ST makes me drop a lot of my influences to play, i may start a new character anyway. :)

True, there are very few useful Ventrue, well, anywhere. Those who are useful are even more sought after because of this.

I was meant to reply to this entry with my first response... but it wasn't supposed to be a reply to Rojir... it was supposed to be a general comment. Mike done got stupid is all. *le sigh*

Well, this is ME you're talking about, so take it for what you will. Evidently, I'm a bad player cause I chose Giovanni.

i don't think the clan you pick can possibly have any bearing on your abilities as a player.....whether it reveals you as a bad PERSON on the other hand is an entirely different matter. i always knew you had a latent tendancy toward necromancy. :)

At the moment, yes, but I'm home about 3/4 weekends per month. Ironically I just got back here (NC) from leave (MD) on the 6th, but I was there last weekend too. Oh well. We'll have to try to coordinate in August I suppose. That and/or you'll have to come visit Mandy and me when we move to Washington State.

i had no idea about you being in the area or i would have called...would have had to be the first weekend though....the second weekend was busy with a wedding (the reason we flew down) and mother's day. you are moving to washington state? cool! (although i think that puts you roughly the same distance in the opposite direction). where are you moving to in washington?

Whidbey Island, and should be some time in early October. Do you still have the same phone number? Mine changed, but it's posted in my LJ a couple posts back.

Why haven't you been playing up there?

a multitude of reasons but mostly

From: [identity profile] 2eclipse.livejournal.com
because i was very VERY overwhelmed. i am also suspicious of midwest games because i hear so many things about the midwest being psycho....but the ST here says that he allows very few FAP characters and very little in the way of out-of-clan disciplines....so it might not be too bad.

Corey really is a decent guy, and has the best of intentions for his game. Like I said, I visited the St. Paul game once before, and they had a decent crowd. With Corey now running things, I wouldn't be surprised if the game has gotten even better. Give it a shot, I say!

And that, dear reader of Heather's journal, is ultimately all that matters! Thank you for supporting the naked movement - especially in this particular case. One day, we will dominate the world into clotheslessness!

... and made up words!

that's tyra and she's AWESOME. trouble, but that is to be expected. she is a red-head. naturally. and she does the tickle-thing with her fingernails and turns me into a puddle. she is evil. you'd love her. :)

Given your knowledge of me, and my previous discussions on such topics, I can only assume you are completely correct.

Nice to virtually meet you Tyra :)
