i just lightened the text a LOT.
it should be plenty bright. it is almost TOO bright for me. (bright screens give me serious headaches)

I don't think it has anything to do with what you're doing. In fact, what web browser are you using? That may make a huge difference..

(Note: If I peer REEEEAAAAALLY hard at the screen, I can barely see my typing in the box.. it'd give me a headache to read,if I could do it at all... but it's almost there.)

you may be right about this....but i have my monitor set up for photoshop editing too. had to for work.
i am using firefox. does this help?

Try opening the page with IE and see what happens. I use IE because I have to use a standard for work. That's probably the major difference.

See above - try IE, it's only slightly better. I hate when LJ logs me out.
