busy day.
yesterday i went to the used bookstore and picked up a few things that were in particularly nice condition, including a crockpot cookbook. the one i had was never found after the move and i need to figure out what i am going to bring for the company meal on friday....there are some AWESOME recipes in this one. right now i am making mushroom and shallot hot pot....it has fennel and two kinds of mushrooms and shallots and tomato and hard cider in it....mmmmmm....i may duplicate this if it is good. it is certainly making the house smell good.

my xmas chores are almost done. a couple more people to buy for, three packages to send out and today i will set up the guest room for my folks when they come out here. i am SOOO excited to see them and show them around and cook for them. they will be our first visitors from the east coast that i already know since i moved here.

when we were up in plainesville foaming chris and theresa's garage so that chris can actually work out there w/o freezing his rear, ross left his wedding ring up there...better than having it get foam insulation all over it. anyway they were down here for the day and i met chris at a half-way point to have dinner and pick up the ring. it was very pleasant. we chit-chatted for about 2 hours. wish the lived closer.

then i came home and was rammy so i went over to dawn's friend paul's place where they were hang out and drinking and talking about xmas caroling. dawn and susan are interested but we need some more men.
