the truth is that mostly anything below 10 degrees just feels frickin' COLD. your body doesn't distinguish that much unless it is windy - which is pure hell. i am NOT used to this cold...but i'm getting there. your blood actually does thicken in response to exposure to this kind of cold, but it takes a few years.
snow flower and the secret fan is about 2 chinese girls bound to each other in what is called the lao-tong(old same) relationship - a friendship for life. they communicate with one another in a secret language used only by women that is based on a real historic writing system. i like books about friendship and i like books with different cultures than mine and i like books with intrigue. so far this is a win.
