:) you are going to laugh because it is a very simple reason. i want different words so that i don't make mistakes at parties. i don't want to assume the wrong gender - but i don't want to give up knowing what gender is attached to what word either. i certainly wouldn't put my language-obsession over people's ability to do what they want. they should spend their lives together and love wherever they choose and have equal access/rights to each other's property and all of that. i just don't want to put my foot in my mouth over it. that is the main reason an additional point is that i'm bi. my love for other women has been just as wonderful and caring and worthy as my love for ross....but there is a difference. i LOVE that difference. i cherish it. i would like to have it acknowledged.
