wow. just finished...heh heh. and ross was worried that he would have to wait for me....so much for that.

the book is breath-taking. possibly my favorite so far. harry continues to be a moody teenager, but in a MUCH better way.
as [livejournal.com profile] silvertongue1 noted, the ending is amazing. i find myself simulteously disappointed and elated...probably not for the proper reasons.
the main thing i want to say without spoiling things is VERY WORTH YOUR TIME.

Attempt to be vague...

I don't want to use spoilers just in case the uninitiated are here, so:
*Who* died didn't surprise me....I had that one down for ages. But *how* that person died was what threw me for a loop. I mean, wow. I never would have seriously thought of that. Never.

Best part: my 3 pairings happened! Sorta. The first I wanted was heavily hinted at in the end, and will most likely happen for sure in Book 7, the second ended before its time (I'm thinking it'll happen again once the dangers of book 7 are past), and the third was so out-there, that I thought it would never ever happen. But it did, in the very end, though the biggest glimpse we got was the argument and then the eventual hand-holding. And yeah, I'm vague.... don't want to spoil it by accident for comment-readers.

i liked the message that even adults we trust can make mistakes. i liked how that led up to the conclusion of this book A LOT.
my disappointments were more in line with the change of format for book 7, which i can't say more about without spoilers...
