...so the pain is keeping me awake tonight. ross tried to stay with me, but wound up going downstairs after an hour of my tossing, turning, being unable to breathe and various failed snorting attempts to do so.

see they are very good at telling you that it's going to hurt like hell when you get your tonsils out. and they drug you appropriately with roxocette (so called because of the roxx factor)....and that the antibiotics and roxocette will probably give you nausea, but that you back off and use liquid tylenol so that your pain can be delt with mildly so you can eat after the first couple of days.
what they don't tell you is that about the time you are ready to be on tylenol because you are sick to death of feeling like you're going to puke -say 5-7 days after? yeah at that time the scabs come off your tonsils? and not only is that GROSS because you're swallowing your own scabs, and there's nothing you can do about it, but also you are going to have a fever, chills and feel major pain that will make you swear like a pissed-off puerto rican. this is not a racial slur, but acknowledgment of fact. i have it on good authority from every puerto rican i have ever met that they are simply better at swearing than any other country (and seriously look down on pathetic attempts like my title).
but no...the doctors save that information for the spouses in the waiting room who don't know your questions because although you are very close to one another you've just never gotten to that intimate of intimates SCAB SWALLOWING QUESTION!!! they also don't tell you that EVERYTHING makes you burp. but that it's a good thing because it keeps you from throwing up. also in my case i can't breathe through my nose because that is full of stitches and blood and i am not allowed to blow my nose and get them out. that part actually sounds grosser than it is.
so tonight i am waiting and hoping and praying like a stupid 60's love song that my antibiotics will kick me HARD in the head and make me pass out so that i can sleep through tonight without crying.

on the bright side i did manage to eat a soft boiled egg today. and a little bit of lo mein

Argh. Wish I could help.

Um. When I was horridly nauseated and couldn't really eat, C discovered the glory of lots of ginger in smoothies with lots of nutrients via powder and pureed fruits and veggies. Not sure if that helps at all, but it was what kept me alive the last couple months I was sick.

And soup. No chunks. Lots of ginger and wasabi. It was green. Don't know what else was in it. Other than too much wasabi. I had to add water.
