still tired.
i had trouble sleeping two nights ago and am paying for it now.
last night i slept great except for madeliene waking me by walking on me and purring (time to get up and play with me mom!).
susan came over and surprised me with a graduation gift (totally not necessary, but very appreciated). i made chicken curry and rice with raisins and then we went out and walked 2-3 miles with guiness and got back around 9:30pm. daylight lasts longer in the summer in minnesota than virginia, just as the winter days are much shorter. you really feel the change in lattitude during both seasons. it was only grey-dark when we got back. it was just right for walking with that after-the-rain smell in the air.
it definitely wore me out.
i am thinking today that i will go grocery shopping. and get the peat pellets i want from home depot. and get a good shower and a nap after work.
ross called to let me know he got back to my parent's place alright. it is nice to feel missed by him. sometimes it is nice to be apart so that i can realize how much i miss him.

yesterday i had car issues.
it started a few weeks ago. i slammed my seatbelt in the car door and didn't notice that the interior light was on.
it didn't QUITE burn out the battery, but it was really close.
i drove around a bit and it seemed to do okay.
but it was sporadic about how much trouble it wanted to give me in order to start in the morning. i thought it had been charged up enough by the time i left for virginia that i wouldn't have to worry about it any more.
apparently i was wrong. sunday i went to best buy and it argued with me about that, but i DID get it started. it also started for work in the morning. but after work it was a no go.
so i waited after work until a co-worker could give me a jump start and worried about the plans i had made with susan for that night...
and when i went out to jump it, the damn thing started before my co-worker even got there. at which point i went home to hook it to the car charger and ross suggested i go to napa instead and get it checked. napa concluded that it was bad and i learned how to change the battery in a car. i also learned how to check to see if the alternator is bad by unhooking the positive charge on the battery while the car is running. neat.
