odd. i liked anna karerina more than i did war and peace. granted, my favorite russian author is dostoyesky. i loved "crime and punishment" and "notes from the underground"
i like marx. i don't really agree with his philosophy but i like his analysis of alienation.
part of the reason i enjoy nietzsche so much is his emphasis on love and compassion. but then again, i like buddhist teachings and there is much about nietzsche that is very similar to buddhist thought despite his criticism of buddhism.
