at ross's urging i took today off and stayed home. i got much-needed sleep, much needed rest and got things done that amount to my life being less stressful. ross sometimes has very good advice.
sleeping in means sleeping til 9:30 max for me these days. a nasty side-effect of my normal 6:30 wake-up time.
but it still felt good to get the extra hours.
i checked e-mail, made coffee and gingerbread and read a little bit before waking ross and making breakfast for both of us.
then we curled up on the couch and watched memoirs of a geisha together. i REALLY liked it and the soundtrack was really good. nothing like what i am used to expecting from john williams(although that's good too).
then i went out and got xmas lights (some of ours from last year were broken) and went grocery shopping and to the butcher. i found out that corned beef is made by boiling brisket in beer and spices and that they sell the spices there....i'm going to have to do that sometime. i got supplies for xmas morning and made dinner and wrapped the remaining xmas gifts (minus the ones that haven't come in the mail yet).
i am especially pleased with tonight's culinary efforts.
with the presents safely under the tree, i can focus on my paper. i have candy canes to take into work tomorrow. it has been a good day.
