fabulous weekend/horrible nightmare
Aug. 6th, 2007 08:34 amfabulous weekend.
friday i came home and caught about an hour nap before packing up and heading to st. cloud for the weekend. shawn, thistle, cedar, mike, adam cerling and i all congregated at john and tessa's for the weekend to play games together.
i got VERY lost on the way there, but it was made not only tolerable, but pleasant by the fact that i talked theology with my friend, mitchel for most of the drive.
then i stayed up til the wee hours of the morning (about 5am) playing a tabletop rpg based on greek mythology called agon. john and i got our asses handed to us by the shade of orion. it was great. i would have liked the change to finish, but we needed sleep.
the rest of the weekend involved good food, good company and several new games that i am lusting after, first among them a card game that crosses NASCAR with call of cthulu. it is appropriately named cthulu 500. obviously everyone needs zombies and blood sacrifice with their racing! we also played a cheap-ass game involving mining meteors and blowing up spacecraft that i don't remember the name of, lunar rails(a train game) and a hunter/gatherer game that i also don't remember the name of. good stuff though. ross and i sent one another affectionate text-messages and talked a couple times during the weekend. i missed him, but i wouldn't have gotten to see him even if i'd stayed home. it was a 5 show weekend for him. he went out to a fire at
wilderheart 's folks place saturday night and i was very happy about that because it means he got SOME time with friends. he just doesn't get as much contact with people during a show like this and i worry for him.
i came home, dropped off some film to be developed that is at LEAST 2 years old(and which i think may include the roll i took with
votishal and
cuddlejunkie1 . i'm getting everything on cd and i will put anything that is any good on the gallery. tessa's mad organization skills inspired me so i organized and cleaned. i am getting ambitious about the basement but that is a project for more than one night. then i headed over to ryan grohnke's house where there was much more dicussion of theology. fabulous weekend even if i did stay up way past my bedtime.
