Apr. 19th, 2006 11:05 amlast night we had dinner with anne terlizzi, one of the ASM's (assitant stage manager) from the guthrie and her husband, russ colliton. we have done dinner with them several times (not often enough) since i moved up here and i continue to find them pleasant and interesting.
they are going to italy for 3 weeks starting friday and i am jealous. one week of cooking school together and 2 weeks of backpacking in tuscany.
dinner was delightful and anne got me into a groove for gardening. i got some whiskey barrel halves today and am starting to dig up some rocks from our gutter run-off area (which i wanted to plant with herbs anyway) to fill the bottoms with so i can turn them into planters.
the only thing i couldn't find at home depot was something to protect the foundation from root penetration. anne says there is something that does that (better than cut-up garbage bags which is what i WAS going to use), but i can't remember what it is called. does anyone know? garden screen or something like that?
