prayers please

last night ross's dad was involved in a severe car crash. he has a broken arm, two broken legs and two broken ribs. two of the fractures are compound. ross and i just saw him into surgery about 20 minutes ago. please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

thank you so much to all of you who have sent support this way. it REALLY means a lot to both ross and me.
we are just getting home from the hospital and getting something to eat before we crash out.
the surgery this morning went well. they pinned and plated ross's dad's heel bone and got both compound fractures back under the skin where they belong and treated for infection. both legs and one arm have been splinted and the punctured lung seems to be closing up nicely.
there was a slight scare this afternoon with low blood pressure and a fever and there was some worry about a heart attack, but they figured out that he just needed more fluids and stuck a pick in his heart to dump in about 100cc of fluids. looks like that is going to be just fine.
he is surly and full of stories and jokes and flirting with the nurses when he is not completely doped to the gills. his wife and parents are with him now, so ross and i are hitting the sack.
ross is handling this really well, managing his family, his dad's legal details, etc. i'm just making sure ross eats and sleeps.
