i have no will-power.
i went to barnes and noble to get 1 book. ONE.
[personal profile] ashoe 's assertions that kushiel's justice had come out was overwhelming and i had a coupon for 15% off in addition to my 20% member discount. it was too much to resist.

when i got there lo and behold there was a summer sale. paperback classics buy 2 get one free!!! and i could use my member discount (10% on paperbacks). there were a bunch that i had never heard of before and several i had been wanting to read....i limited myself to six including the free ones.
i found to my dismay that jaqueline carey's book was NOT in stock...but the name of the wind by patrick ruthfuss was. it has gotten great reviews by podcasts i admire and i heard an interview with the author that was interesting. i used my additional discount on that instead.
all in all, i spent less than $50 and got 7 books. not a bad deal at all. but i really need to not go to bookstores until i have a job.

You and I have the same disease. I cannot go into a bookstore without coming out with a pile of books. Just cannot do it.
(And then with my moods being what they have been lately, I'm not actually reading much at all. Hence the 22 books in my "not read yet" category on my list at LibraryThing.)I find it satisfying and exciting to buy them, so you'd think I'd actually read them, right? I guess some women go shopping for clothes or shoes to make themselves feel better. For me, it's books.
The first step is admitting that you have a problem ;)
