ross has been promising me for months to teach me to fight with sticks.
and today is wonderful and sunny.
so after a fabulous morning of sitting in the sunshine and drinking coffee and discussing politics and theology with my seminary buddies (as well as the outstanding virtues of "yo mama" jokes and renaissance festivals) i went to the hardware store and bought myself a machete.
thus armed i set out to vanquish the bamboo hordes mustering in the park near my neighborhood.
it did not take me long to subdue several 12 foot shoots and drag them home with me to be hacked into 6-foot lengths suitable for beating people in the head.
go me.:)

did i mention i've already had too much coffee today. i'm going to be awake all night.

it feels so good to do something and have immediate results (not to mention time in the sunshine)
the enforced bookishness of grad school is wonderful, but it doesn't leave you with much of a sense of accomplishment.

definite sense of accomplishment going on this week.
my second emphasis is accepted and registered with my seminary
this girl, susanna, a friend of a friend of ross's is a student at luther seminary where i will be taking a summer class and has agreed to show me around and advise me about professors and stuff up there, which is a BIG help.
i have FINALLY god my schedule laid out for the summer in terms of classes May 16-27 i will be taking methodist history and doctrine with doug strong who is a very good prof. and june 6-july 22 i will be taking hebrew in minnesota with a professor susanna says is good and doesn't break your head with work.
i have had enough head-breaking, thank you very much.
oooo....also my allergies have FINALLY gone away. after being sick virtually ALL winter it is SO nice to be able to breathe through both sides of my nose and feel fully alert and alive again. yeah fresh air and sunshine!!!!

well my class schedule, really.
as excited as i am about finishing up my classwork, the scheduling means that there is NO time ross has significant time free from work where i am not in class either here or there.
which means i have two options A) i can drive up with just my car and my cats as planned and forgo moving most of my stuff until the end of summer or B) i can get a dolly and a truck and move everything all at once.
right now option B is looking good with or without ross's help on this end.
the other thing that really sucks is that my moving time is limited to between may 27 and june 6, which means i will not be able to participate in the crime of the century game....i was really looking forward to that. especially since i will be moving to a place with NO larp of any quality - ie. worth playing (what can i say, you guys have spoiled me).
