the run down of the holidays
Dec. 31st, 2006 12:56 pmso it looks like ross and i will be spending new years alone.
wilderheart and
eltanin changed their plans and are staying in paynesville and luther's illness means we can't travel far because he has to get medicated with relative frequency. also we are not interested in fireworks.
i am irritated about this. new years is a time for friends. but our plans fell through and everyone is either busy or doing stuff we are not interested in. i suppose it serves us right for being picky.
luther is doing very well. he is affectionate and sweet and playful and disobedient. all to the good. but he is on medication and we don't expect results back for another week.
( virginia )
we went out to see ross's parents yesterday, and the grumps. i had a surprisingly nice time with ross's parents. dinner was good - not overcooked, i got to hear some great stories from ralph -even though he thinks "pacifist" means the same as "passive", and i actually got christmas gifts i like - a 10 piece silicone bakeware set and a cookbook. pretty positive all around.
i got really mad and just about jumped down helen(ross's grandma)'s throat for picking on tyler when she's never even met him. SO not okay. you don't pick on my boy for thinks you have no idea about and you CERTAINLY don't compare him to a lazy manipulative retarded boy (yes, she did do exactly that).
she backed off.
she will probably go complaining to myra about it but i couldn't care less. i'm not sorry. she does NOT have free reign to pick on my family.
ross and i had a very nice drive back discussing the good and bad points of the visit.
today i am getting all kinds of things done.
i have cleaned up all my clothes in the bedroom (a feat requiring perhaps more work than one might think), put away most of our xmas gifts, broken down boxes for recycling, fed the birds, started cleaning the living room and i have plans to make breakfast (yes, i know it's after 12) and work with ross on the trim in the dining room today.
good stuff.
