i liked the silliness of lots of jacks and LOVED the running joke with the peanut.
so far i ONLY know how to knit toe-up socks. they seem to make the most sense. i am having the same problem as brenda dayne with them - that the bind off gets ruffly because of the ribbing. i'm going to try doing a few rows of plain stockinette at the top of these and see if it eliminates the ruffles.
