i don't think of myself as particularly tolerant. i struggle very hard with my tendency to stereotype and intolerance of things like frat boys, pro-life activists who insist that pro-choicers are pro-abortion, hypocrites who protest abortion but affirm the death penalty, people who listen to anne coulter or rush limbaugh.....the list goes on. i have my on prejudices. and really i do the same thing. sometimes i want to pretend they don't exist. but that doesn't make denial a legitimate way of dealing with life.
