Nov. 18th, 2006 04:27 pmit's official.
i have a fever. yuck.
my battery is dead again (ross left the lights on when he drove it last night) so i walked to the butcher for some chicken. now i make soup.
today has been nice. very cozy on the couch with lots of startrek next-gen and ross. and knitting.
germany was fabulous. i wound up getting a lot of time for just ross and i away from everyone else and that was a big relief. i love scott and heidi and the girls dearly, but i really wanted some alone-time with the honey too and we were interested primarily in checking out all the amazing museums and interesting food that berlin has - not the zoo and mcdonalds and pizza that pleased the girls - you might as well be in the US! we did have dinner together our second to last night there and i went to the sea-life center with heidi and the girls.
ross also bought me an AMAZING outfit. i still can't believe he did it. i told him to get me out of the store before i spent money and instead he started encouraging me to try things on. we spent WAY too much on it, but boy do i feel pampered! i never thought i was impressed by gifts. i'm a little troubled by how happy it made me. i squealed like a little girl the whole rest of the evening.
we went to the pergamon museum, the egyptian museum and the bode museum. we went up to the top of the east german tv tower and had lunch in the revolving restaurant. we also spent a day in potsdam checking out the summer palace of one of the many willhelm friedrich's - can't remember which. they wouldn't let us take pictures there, but i'll be adding pictures of the rest to the website.
LOVELY!

outfit
Date: 2006-11-19 07:17 pm (UTC)I am sorry you have a fever. I hope it is better today and I like the thought of you taking care of yourself with chicken soup, a cozy couch, Star Trek and the company of your good husband. I wish I could bring you soup and curl up in front of the TV too.
I am writing two papers today...switching back and forth. This morning was the healing/reconciliation service at the church where Bill Newland and I have been working. It was a beautiful service and there was a sense of great warmth among at least part of the congregation. Quite a few people seemed to "get it" and I really hope that they have made a start in changing their relationships.
This afternoon is charge conference at St. Matthews and the congregation is voting on whether or not to send me forth as a certified candidate. So...wish me luck.
I can't wait to see your Germany pictures.
Hugs to you, Ross, Luther and Madeleine.
Re: outfit
Date: 2006-11-19 10:39 pm (UTC)i am feeling much better today. i slept very well (for all that i woke at 6:30am) and had more startrek and husband today before he had to go off to work. my fever is gone and the sore throat isn't as bad. i am progressing on to the cough-stage...which is usually a very good sign for me.
i'm so glad that the ceremony went well. i'd love to hear what kind of response you got.
i guess you're right. i hadn't thought of it quite that way. ross is very special. and hates shopping. and a lot of my pleasure is that he gets pleasure from pampering me. good stuff.
but the outfit is amazing. and has parts. there is a black underskirt that is kind of a taffeta thing? i think that's right. and then the over skirt is a red-purple wool knit that is wrapped around the bottom with a pretty rose-colored mesh fabric with little roses and ends in a silk-velvet purple bottom. the black underskirt peaks out underneath.
there is a jacket in the same wool with velvet cuffs and a red shirt that goes underneath. when i am well there will be pictures, but i'll probably wear it for xmas.
