potato dill and egg thing
okay so this is awesome.
i made it up last night.
6 small potatoes, sliced (enough to cover the bottom of one of those small, square pyrex pans)
2 large slices of onion
3 slices of garlic and onion cheddar
4 Tbsp fresh dill
3 hardboiled eggs, sliced
3/4 cup lowfat sourcream
1 tbsp butter
salt and pepper to taste
layer in pan potatoes, broken up onion, egg, dill. add sour cream and butter on top. bake at 350 for 1 hour or until potatoes are soft.
i might have gone even heavier than this on the dill...i've got a lot of extra dill in the house right now. but this was awesome. makes 4 servings.

i'm still thinking about trying those pickle-sicles...even if it means i just make my own.
that being said, balance is a key element for cooking and this was thrown off balance by the dill.

your recipe sounds yummy!! my husband unfortunately does not enjoy most of those things, so I'll have to try it when guests are coming ;) or maybe the next potluck...

but questions first: zombies, nuns, or tentacles. you pick. :)
the recipe was good...but as i commented to
awesome!
if only because, regardless of context, I always think of those bizarr-o japanese hentai involving strange many-tentacled monsters.
I'm working on being more blunt, believe it or not LOL I used to be quite the doormat. I read over some of your entries and it sounded like we had a lot in common (being crafty and cooking and theology and such). Our bleeding liberal hearts can bleed together.
I'll remember about the dill. My friend suzanne has more dill than she knows what to do with so I'm always on the lookout for good recipes to use it up!
Re: awesome!
pickling.
i'm making dilly beans this week.
also one of my favorite salad dressings
juice one lemon
1 tsp olive oil
salt pepper and dill to taste.
it's really yummy.
Re: awesome!
i had to ask because it is my firm belief that tentacles, zombies and nuns make everything funnier.
the only answer you could possibly have given that would be better is tentacled zombie nuns. :)
Re: awesome!
i agree. xP
