i'm too much of a coward for political bumperstickers--that & i don't really WANT to incite debates about the stuff with strangers, but i love their stuff & all the great ideas. spread the word. &, hey, maybe in 3 years' time i can get organized enough to GET to your house for a party! :)
Hi, I just left a message for you on your post in the christian left community. After I left it, I realized that you might actually be doing the program at Wesley Seminary right now, which is awesome, because I am the Summer Desk coordinator on the south side of AU and there are a bunch of people doing the summer program at Wesley staying in my hall, Anderson hall. Are you one of the people staying here in Anderson. I hope so for your sake, because I hear they don't have AC in the Wesley rooms. Anyway, I would love to get together and talk or something of the sort. Good to have another liberal christian around.
oh dear. well, yes, i am a curretn wesley student....technically. i am one pp presentation and one thesis away from granulating into pure cane sugar. so basically i decided to do that from afar and go ahead with my plans to move 17.5 hours away and get married. the good news is that i am orginally from the DC area and i go home to see my parents from time to time. so perhaps we are in fact, destined to meet sometime in our future. in the meantime i am happy to bore you with more recommendations than you will ever want for things to do in the D.C. area. and i will also suggest that you go see chet over at the cokesbury bookstore at wesley (bottom floor of the kresge building). chet is awesome. very christian. very liberal. very smart. very fun.
By definition we do think. Of course some people think Al Gore is a liberal not the new-gen dixiecrat that he is (and lest we forget Tipper and the PMRC).
I hear that. Sadly the weight of history/facts isn't on the conservative side. Obviously this isn't an imperically provable sort of thing (for the nonce anyway). *shrugs*
i never would have considered you as a conservative...but then, i also am much more annoyed by liberals who don't think than those who do...so i like this icon...because it acknowledges the rift between the right and left, but it does so by picking on liberals, not conservatives. i know lots of thoughtful conservatives....they are all over at seminary. again, it is the ones that don't think that piss me off. but there is a stereotype among conservatives that liberals are all heart and no brains. i like encouraging liberals to prove that stereotype wrong.
Yeah, there are stupid stereotypes on both sides, and the people who live those stereotypes annoy me more than anything. It makes it a lot harder for those of us who don't conform to those stereotypes.

Personally, I'm far more annoyed by liberals who don't think than those who do ;)

Don't look at me though, I'm not a conservative. I'm a REAL liberal, a libertarian... both parties annoy me plenty ;)
