(no subject)

i just spent about half the day digging in the dirt with my mother-in-law.
it was oddly fun.
i think that means there is something clinicly wrong with me.

myra is something of a machine when it comes to gardens. right now she is tilling the garden with a gas-powered tiller(a one-person job or i would probably still be out there). she brought me two kinds of violets, canna bulbs (which i will have to dig out again in the fall if i want to keep them), echinachea, mums, elephant ears in a pot, clematis, hollyhocks and some weird ground cover that is pretty and drapey and neither of us have any clue what it's called. oh and a really cool fountain thing for our front garden that she says will keep fish alive if we want to use it for that. i also planted some annual vines that i've had for a while.
the garden looks much better (although still pretty sparse). and i got some exercise.

Want to come over here after your appt today? I have so many hoops to make, and I could make them while you knit, if you want, or you could help, too! :) or we could just talk and snack and put good tunes on, too. :)

Call me if you want! I'll be here and hope to see you, GardenQueen! :)

Digging in the dirt is a wonderfully soothing pasttime. That's not what makes you crazy... it the other stuff =)

Why would it mean there's something wrong?

And could you post or send an image of the weird ground cover? Mildly curious, for a couple reasons.

it would mean something is wrong a) because i actually enjoyed my phenomenally boring and passive agressive mother-in-law and b) because i hate weeding. mostly a.
