progress report

i feel as though i am part of a countdown. in a matter of hours i will have class and my paper will be due and i will be (insert star wars empire theme) DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE!

i got an hour's sleep from 5:30-6:30 and am either 1/4 or 1/2 done, depending on how you look at it. both my paper and the outline i'm following have increased in size.
i would be worried, but i just can't bring myself to be. also i know that i goofed off some last night. i needed a break between the two papers from yesterday and the last one today or i simply wasn't going to think straight.

so i made 4 batches of soap (sounds like a lot, but it only took me an hour, i've been doing this for about 3 years). i popped it out of the molds around 4am today and so far they look great. calendula, cucumber, tomato-basil and a gritty gardener's soap.

i watched the last half of the earthsea trilogy, which was utter decadence. i NEVER watch tv. but it was okay. way less cheese than i thought there would be. i am angry at them for the stuff they added about the women in the temple and the war. pure silliness. i REALLY object to their changing Ged's true name and his use name around. but danny glover is great. actually i was pretty impressed with most of the actors except the guy playing jasper who i think has spent a little too much time watching draco malfoy in the harry potter movies. and the nameless one? well he could have been done a lot worse.

i also talked with ross. which is always great, but last night was especially wonderful. it is such a gift to feel like someone really SEES you and thinks you're wonderful anyway. i love how much he cares for his friends. he has so much heart. sometimes i miss him so much i want to cry. i remind myself it is only five and a half more months til i will be out there for the summer.
That is still a long time, but i am very good at keeping myself busy. i need to quit whining and get my work done.

Do you ever keep yourself so busy that you are incapable of noticing things you should notice? (need to eat, need to sleep, pain, etc...)

yes. it doesn't happen very often because i get sick if i don't do those things, but even when i was younger i would frequently put some food in the microwave and get so engrossed in whatever i was playing with that i forgot to eat it.

Capable of really high focus, then. Thought that likely.
Was also curious because of your description of busy as sort of a self-management tactic. Familiar thought process to me.
