i just broke in my canning set today.
i now have six, lovely, sealed jars of brandied cherries (that took me all afternoon to pit grrrr)!!!
now i'm thinking up things to do with them....cheesecake, ice cream, manhattans, brownies.....the cherry infused brandy is supposed to be really awesome as well.
dilly beans are next on the list. i have the ingredients...i just need to find the time.
then ketchup and maybe some raspberry jam.

Beware of that cherry brandy... it's powerful stuff, and tastes so delicious you don't even realize you're getting drunk on it until it's Too Late!!

do you know anything about canning? i'm trying to figure out if the cranberry sauce i make is acidic enough for canning without a pressure-cooker (which i have, but don't know how to use).

i used the recipe out of ball's blue book and it worked really well. definitely recommended.
i wish i had some tomato overflow. where's my mother-in-law when i need her?

i went out and bought about 40 roma's yesterday. we'll see how far they go into ketchup.
