Those are sweet! And crocheting is really easy - probably easier to teach yourself than knitting. I'm sure you could find a tutorial online somewhere!

hmmmm....how do i answer this...?
on one hand, i love handmade things from friends. there is just something wonderful about people actually caring enough to do something like that for you...on the other....i really probably should learn to crochet myself....
