i am not exceptional at very many things. i do too many things to specialize. but one of the things i am VERY good at is finding and keeping good friends. i have known most of my closest friends for 17 to 20 years. some of the people on my f-list are just people i have met through lj, but even some of them i have gotten to know pretty well. i'd say i could successfully advertise for 95% of them....but it is also because i got to _choose_ my friends. if i did it for a living i wouldn't be able to do that.

...I think there is a lot to be said for freedom of choice...even though your language skills and ability to come up with piquant words is great, it might be harder if you were forced to describe countless wretched people whom you personally would not want to associate with as part of a job...!
