FO's

so i have knit my first and second pair of socks and am working on a third pair.
the first ones i gave to my mom for mother's day. these were made with a german yarn that starts with an "m," but i can't remember the name for the life of me. usually i'm better at keeping track of these things. for people who know about my hatred-revulsion-horror of the color pink, it should be noted that these socks are red and purple(with a little orange). the lighting is off in this picture.




and then i made some crazy ugly socks for myself. i LOVE THEM. they are so bright and obnoxious. i will wear them everywhere. they are made with opal sock yarn. i used size 1 needles and knitty's universal toe-up sock pattern for both of these, adding a 2x2 rib on the cuff.

They are not a bit ugly. I love them. I want a pair and more than that...I want to learn to knit them....in ten years maybe I will have finished my hat. :)

socks are not as difficult as i thought they were, although i will admit the first pair took me a long time - mostly it was because i reworked one of them.
i think you are quite capable of them.
