ross and i picked up a copy of arkham horror last night on e-bay. i'm totally psyched about this because it is out of print and we've been trying to get a copy for months. it is a board game based on call of cthulu and combines just the right amount of action and cooperation. you have to work together to kill monsters and close portals or hastur (or some other bad guy) will rise and devour the world.
pretty awesome! i can't wait for it to arrive. i am thinking about brining it to va for xmas and scandalizing my family with it.:)
i also need to stop at the craft store and pick up some stuff for xmas gifts.

work is boring me. i'm actually looking forward to going grocery shopping after work today...which is not good because i'm going to be hungry by then. hungry shopping is usually a bad idea. but we need too many things for me to procrastinate any longer.

I love that game, though I rarely have a chance to play it. A friend of mine had an old copy of the game from the 70's which was completely out of print, so when they rel;eased a new version a few years ago I preordered as soon as I heard about it. I understand there are expansions to the game, but I've never seen them. The game is long and somewhat complicated, but I really love it.

1987, actually. But yeah, very out of print and rare.

The new version absolutely blows it away, though. An improvement on every level. I'm actually considering eBaying my old copy...

Oh, god, I'm getting so old the decades are running together...

Heh, don't feel bad, the production design of the old game really did look like it was from the 70s. :)

i think the length is one of the reasons i like it so much.

Hastur, Hastur, Hastur...

Ia, Ia, Cthulu phtagn, Cthulu Ryleh, wag'nagl phtagn...

Rise, Old Ones and reclaim the world as your own. Feast on the vermin and devou...

Oh, sorry, got carried away. Hope you enjoy the game.

I have both the old original versions of that game, and the new re-release (which is awesome). It's a really fun game.

There are two expansions out for it, too. :/

i think there are more than that!
you really live too far away.

I know :(

Curse of the Dark Pharoah and Dunwich Horror are the only two that I know of right now. My table is barely big enough to play the vanilla game, though. And, of course, I want the new version with the errata and new map... :(

how can you come over and play with me if you are in montana?

I know, I'm sorry!
