did you ever have reoccurring dreams?
when i have them something in the dream has to change before i will a) realize they are reoccurring and b) stop having them.
this morning i woke at 5:30am with a vivid nightmare about sharks.
i was swimming underwater with someone else (who i vaguely remember was male, but was really one of those faceless dream people) and we came to an underwater cavern that had large sharks swimming out of it. large like...12-20 ft long large. there were smaller ones too, but really they were negligable. we went into the cave and came to a shaft going upward.there was a pole that went straight up the shaft like in a firehouse or a drain from a roof. i wanted to go up but my partner couldn't go with me.
i went without him. i knew there was a level i would stop at that would be safe in terms of the O2 in my blood (although i didn't have scuba gear, i don't know why i was worried). i raised my hand above my head and started to ascend. as i rose, i was surrounded by more and more large sharks. most of them ignored me, but one started to chase me. i was lucky that he couldn'at swim as fast as my bouyancy was propelling me upward. i burst through the surface of a cement pool in an underground cavern and lept to the side, quickly followed by the shark's gaping mouth. it doesn't sound like much, but in the dream it was really scary.
the pool was FULL of these huge sharks. the room i was in was part of a submerged aquarium. it was at this point that i recognized the dream.
really, the previous ones had been pretty cool and not very scary. nothing chased me in them. it was about an undersea aquarium that could be reached by scuba diving or by a submarine elevator. pretty cool. my dad was there and i walked around the place in my pajamas (?) terrified to go back to my partner. weird.
the cowboy junkies were great last night. their new album seems to be mostly covers, but they are pretty good ones.
