Happy Thanksgiving

i have so many things to be thankful for this year.
i have to say having my job threatened and then not-threatened has really given me a new appreciation for it, and how i fit in at 3M. and a new perspective on who i am and what i have to offer.
i am grateful.

celebrating my father and his 80 years on this planet has made me more aware of his health and his presence in my life.
and also for my mother and siblings and their families and how much our inter-connectedness means to all of us.
i am grateful.

ross continues to surprise me with his ability to accept things, his encouragement and support, and all the ways that he is a bigger, stronger, and more compassionate person than i can conceive of when i try to imagine all of him in my head.
he is my partner and my love.
i am grateful.

the cats. are naughty, and huge and way more affectionate than cats have any business being.
i am grateful.

another year has passed with lessons for me about the world and about myself. we have elected our first black president, and the country seems poised for change.
i am grateful.

and my friends are a constant source of challenges, and sympathy, and ideas and amazement and humor for me.
and i am grateful.
for all of you and what you are to me.
